Judge Pirro started her professional journey at the network in the capacity of a legal analyst. She achieved the distinction of being the first female prosecutor of murder cases and spearheaded the establishment of the initial domestic violence section inside a prosecutor’s office nationwide, during her tenure as the assistant district attorney of Westchester. Pirro was elected in 1990, marking her historic appointment as the first female Westchester County Court judge. In 1997, she was designated by the former Governor George Pataki to assume the position of chairperson for the New York State Commission on Domestic Abuse Fatality Review Board. The board’s research efforts played a pivotal role in the enactment of enhanced safeguards for those affected by domestic abuse.
